Created to meet France’s economic and industrial development needs since the nineteenth century, IMT’s Technological Universities have supported every industrial and communications revolution.
Comprising eight Technological Universities and two subsidiary schools, IMT coordinates and develops a diverse ecosystem of economic, academic and institutional partners involved in training, research and economic development.
IMT action builds on the heritage if its schools, which have contributed to the development of major technological advances that have had a profound effect on society.

Over the past several years, Institut Mines-Télécom has taken a number of steps to foster equal opportunity for its employees : parenting support measures, a specific program to close the wage gap and implement affirmative action to correct low wage progression.
IMT developed a gender equality plan for the 2021-2023 period (approved by the Board of Directors in June 2021), focusing on 4 pillars, based on civil service guidelines in accordance with the requirements of the law of 6 August 2019 :

Following an initial action plan to combat gender-based and sexual violence, Institut Mines-Télécom continues its commitment to addressing all forms of violence (harassment, discrimination, secularism, gender-based and sexual violence) and fostering inclusion while respecting shared values.
This initiative promotes inclusion and equality, serving the goal of harmonious living together: Action Plan Against Violence and Discrimination.

Drawing on the historic commitment of its schools, in 2020 Institut Mines-Télécom embarked on an ambitious group strategy to support ecological and social transition.
Empowering all IMT graduates, faculty and staff to embody social responsibility.
A shared roadmap based on concrete commitments was accepted by the College of Directors on 6 May 2021 and unanimously approved by the Board of Directors on 24 June 2021.

This label represents a major asset for the attractiveness of research careers and for the ITM schools, by attracting researchers from all over Europe. It ensures equal treatment between the different schools and facilitates access to European research funding. These objectives are fully in line with the ITM’s policy of supporting research and those involved in it.
These objectives are fully in line with the policy of the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT), reinforcing the attractiveness and international influence of the establishment, as well as its active participation in the European research area. With this in mind, the ITM has officially embarked on the HRS4R labelling process.
For several years now, Institut Mines-Télécom has implemented an active wage policy revised every year for its contractual staff. It ensures minimum wage rates, taking into consideration seniority at the institution and rewards employees for achieving individual performance goals by paying an annual bonus.

The composition of IMT’s Scientific Advisory Board reflects the scale of the scientific themes addressed and the wide-ranging nature of the institute’s research and innovation remit. Its members examine and analyze strategic priorities, relevant topics, skills, results and recommendations following IMT’s major thematic symposiums.
Its role is to offer the viewpoint of businesses and the academic world.
The aim is to involve companies that have a global vision of the economy, markets, technologies and society at large and to take on board the analysis of researchers from international universities and research centers.
Qualified individuals also sit on the Board to provide their experience and widely acknowledged expertise.
